We would like to point out that on 13 July 2022 the Saxon Landtag passed the Act on the Transparency of Information in the Free State of Saxony (Saxon Transparency Act – SächsTranspG), which entered into force on 01 January 2023.
According to Article 1 of the Act, every person is entitled to demand publication of the information referred to in Article 8 of the Act and access to information from bodies subject to transparency obligations, unless an exception applies (right to transparency).
The information is either made available on the transparency platform – an electronic platform operated on the internet by the Free State of Saxony, where information is published – or made accessible upon request by the body subject to transparency.
Any requests for access to information under the Transparency Act must be sent to meldestelle@studentenwerk-leipzig.de.
The German version of the Act shall apply.
