Are you interested in a job offered on our job portal? We compiled the most important facts for you in the following steps. For information about employers, please read further down below on this page.

1. Register online

To use the job portal, it is required that the person looking for a job is enrolled properly at a university or academy in Leipzig, for which Studentenwerk Leipzig provides its services. If a job cannot be placed with students in Leipzig, students from other public German universities may indicate their interest. The certificate of enrolment of the current semester serves as proof.

Who meets this requirement can register with our job portal. For step-by-step instructions on the registration, please read here. Personal details and documents are required for the registration (see next question: "Which documents are required?").

2. Find the right job

You can find all job offers provided by the student job office on our job portal. When you choose a job, please make sure that you meet the necessary requirements and can realize the working hours.

3. Go to the student job office

Then, visit the student job office directly, as the jobs are placed only after a personal interview during the office hours. Your student profile on the job portal will be verified in a brief interview. You need to prove your identity by means of your ID card or passport. Furthermore, you will be provided with more information on the advertised job.

4. Contact the employer

After you were assigned with a job, you will be given the employer’s contact data and have to contact the employer by yourself.

At the same time, your contact details will be forwarded to the employer. From that time, the employer expects you to contact him or her. Therefore, you should better think twice whether or not you want to accept the job.

5. Give Feedback

To improve the quality of our job offers and represent the placement process in a transparent way, students are given the opportunity to rate employers. This function will be unlocked in the online job office only after the employer confirmed that the student contacted him or her. If the employer has submitted the confirmation, please inform us in this regard and we will unlock the feedback function for you.

Simply leaf through our job offers. May be you will find a job! We look forward to your visit!

Questions & Answers

Show details

Our work is based on personal communication with students and has proved in the past that this way of job placement is more reliable for all parties involved. The personal job placement is the unique feature, in which we differ from other job portals.

This way, we can keep track of the placement service and know, when a job has been assigned and can be deleted from the job portal or we talk to the employers about how many applicants they still need.

Show details

It is technically impossible to enter “from now”. This why a date in the past is shown, which is usually the day the ad was published and the earliest possible date to start the job. That does not mean the job is not available anymore.

Show details

You can get a maximum of three job offers. You should have the opportunity to contact the employer and/or to submit your application.

Show details

You can reserve a job and have the possibility to get the job during the next office hours. We will try to consider you for the job assignment.

Reserved job offers are verified only prior to the respective office hours.

But: We cannot guarantee that the job is available until you visit the job office, as the personal job interviews at the office take priority and the employer may of course close the job offers by himself or herself at any time.

The reservation process has the advantage of placing very urgently required jobs.

For these jobs, the possible number of reservations may have been exhausted. Experience has shown, however, that not all the reserved jobs have been placed, so that it is always worth asking at the job office for this specific job, as long as the job is being published.

The reservation function may be blocked for certain job offers.
