Vaccinations for Returning to in-classroom Teaching

Impfkampagne Impfen für Präsenzveranstaltungen

The more students geting vaccinated against Covid-19, the closer the return to the campuses gets. We would therefore like to call on all students to make use of the vaccination offers now available.

The Studentenwerk Leipzig, and the Deutsches Studentenwerk (DSW), are calling on all students to make use of the vaccination offers provided by the federal states and universities in order to enable more attendance at universities in the coming winter semester 2021/2022. The DSW is the umbrella organization of the 57 Studentenwerk organizations in Germany.

DSW Secretary General Achim Meyer auf der Heyde explains: "After three digital semesters, many students long for more direct interaction at the university. Discussions in seminars, shared meals at the Mensas or spending time in the library – that's what campus life is all about. The chances of returning to life on campus are good. But it all depends on as many students as possible getting vaccinated against COVID-19. That is why the Deutsches Studentenwerk, together with the Conference of University Chancellors (Hochschulrektorkonferenz/HRK) support the call of the Federal Government to students to take advantage of the vaccination offers of the federal states, the Federal Government and the universities."

Many federal states and universities are currently planning easy access vaccination programs especially for students – or are already implementing them. The Studierendenwerk Berlin, for example, has already organized vaccinations for more than 2,000 students.

The federal government has also launched the campaign "Germany rolls up the sleeves" to encourage as many people as possible to get vaccinated against COVID 19.
