This week, some of our canteen staff visited Friedrichs Gut in Altenhain near Grimma. Around 30 kilometers from Leipzig, Bruno Friedrich grows purely organic vegetables there. He produces healthy, tasty and sustainable food in harmony with nature.
For our Regio-Teller, which we offer every first Thursday of the month in our large canteens, we use vegetables from him, among others. The ingredients come from the Leipzig area. With the Regio-Teller, we support regional producers from the Leipzig area, such as Bruno Friedrich, and bring sustainability to the plate. It was an exciting visit during which Mensa employees and farmer Friedrich exchanged a lot of ideas and developed new ones together.
Our Regio-Teller range is supported by our long-standing vegetable supplier, Köhra Frische GmbH, which takes care of the logistics and kitchen-ready preparation of the vegetables for us, such as washing, cleaning and slicing.
