Johann Nieschke, a student from Leipzig that grew up in the Spreewald, found his passion for photography five years ago. This passion since changed his perspective on the world.
Currently his photos are on display in the exhibition “Where we could grow”. Nieschkes photos resemble an inner emotional chaos between uncertainty and freedom while simultaneously demonstrating the beauty and frugality of life.
Nieschkes exhibition displays a visual journey through the upbringing in the midst of euphoria, optimism, security and concern for the future. The exhibition can be visited until the end of March 2024 in the hallways on the first and second floor of the Studentenwerk (Goethestr. 6).
You want to organise an own photo exhibition?
Students who would like to display their photographs in an exhibition are welcome to apply to the Studentenwerk Leipzig. The theme of the exhibition can be freely selected by the student. 24 frames sized 59.4 x 84 cm each can be shown in the exhibition spaces in the hallways of the 1st and 2nd floor at Goethestraße 6. The exhibitions are usually shown for two months.
The exhibitions are financed by Studentenwerk Leipzig’s Cultural Funding.
The student photographers must be enrolled in one of the eight Leipzig Universities/Academies, which are associated with the Studentenwerk Leipzig, for the whole course of the exhibition.
