Information day for refugees attracted great interest

Full house at the information day – refugees and international prospective students got important information about access to studies in Leipzig and the surrounding area.

On 13 May 2022, almost 450 prospective students from all over the world attended the 5th information day for refugees and international students, which was organised in cooperation between Studentenwerk Leipzig, Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK) and Universität Leipzig. A large number of the visitors were refugees from Ukraine, students from Ukrainian universities and also numerous high school graduates obtained important information at various information stands of the participating universities and initiatives from Leipzig and the surrounding area. Prospective students had a lively exchange with the institutions and also with students from various universities in Leipzig.

The short presentations by the participating universities and the Studentenwerk Leipzig on their offers as well as the workshop by ArbeiterKind on scholarships to finance studies were also well attended.

The subsequent get-together behind the Nieper Building of the HTWK offered the opportunity to exchange ideas and network with live handpan music, snacks and drinks.

Next year, we are again planning an information day for international and refugee prospective students. We will provide information on location and date on all our channels.
