Housing Providers

Offer Housing – Creating Perspectives Together

Do you have free living space? RaumTeiler offers you an easy way to support students and make sensible use of your living space.

Who can offer housing?

All private individuals who fulfil the following criteria can provide accommodation:

  • a free, lockable room with a minimum size of 9m²
  • the willingness to live with a young person who wants to study in Leipzig
  • the willingness to rent out free accommodation at student-friendly prices or to reduce or waive any rental costs incurred through support services

You want to rent your living space fairly – whether short-term for the start of the semester or for a longer period, and do not require regular assistance in daily life.

  • Your advantage: We take care of the matchmaking and assist in finding the most suitable person.
  • Your contribution: A fair rent price that ensures affordable housing for students.

You have a free room and could use some help? Together, we can find a suitable solution – whether it’s for household chores, gardening or shopping.

  • Your advantage: Relief in daily life through the right support.
  • Your contribution: A reduced rent, adjusted based on the help provided.

The rule of thumb: One hour of assistance per square meter of living space per month – fair and transparent. Students cover the additional costs for the room. Care services are excluded!

I live in a rented flat and would like to join RaumTeiler as a housing provider. How does that work?

If you live in a rented flat and would like to participate in RaumTeiler, it is important to note that subletting living space is subject to authorisation. Landlords cannot generally refuse to allow another person to move in if they have a legitimate interest. You should therefore clarify in advance with your landlord whether it is possible to sponsor a tenant.

If subletting is permitted, you are welcome to register with us at Studentenwerk Leipzig. We will help you fill out the registration form and are available to answer any questions you may have about the procedure.
