Pregnant students and parents who study have special questions and problems. The social Counselling service of Studentenwerk Leipzig informs and advises students with child(ren) comprehensively. We can solve many problems in personal interviews and by arranging contacts to the authorities in charge.

- Appointment booking and open consultation hours
Information on the possibility of booking appointments in advance using our appointment booking tool, the current open telephone consultation hours and the open consultation hours without an appointment on site can be found on the website of the social counselling.
- Student Family Center StuFaz
The Student Family Center “StuFaz” is a meeting and networking place, a place to go to and a place for counselling and events for those (future) students parents of Leipzig whose child is not yet in a childcare programme. Our Social Counselling Service offers various information events, workshops and counselling for student parents whose children are not yet in childcare. Additionally, in StuFaz, student parents have a place to play, relax, meet and study. Student parents are welcome to bring their children along. However, we do not offer childcare—but all events are made for taking your children with you.
- Facebook Group “Studium mit Kind Leipzig”
In Studentenwerk Leipzig’s official Facebook group on Studying with a child in Leipzig, student parent (to be) can inform themselves about local events and activities on the subject of studying with a child and pregnancy during their studies, exchange information and get to know each other.
- Info Events for Student Parents-to-be
In addition to our office hours, we regularly offer information events for student parents-to-be.
These events provide you with the most important general information on the topic of studying with children, show different solutions and answer questions from students and their partners or spouses. These events are free of charge and open to all students at Leipzig universities and their partners.

Get to know the StuFaz
Information on directions and access
The StuFaz is located in the hall of residence at Nürnberger Straße 42. The front entrance is only accessible via stairs, the rear entrance is also accessible with pushchairs. There is a bell at both entrances, please use it.

The StuFaz does not have barrier-free access.
How to get there:
- By tram: Bayerischer Bahnhof stop can be reached with lines 2, 9, 16
- By bus: Stop Bayerischer Bahnhof can be reached with line 60
- By S-Bahn: Bayerischer Bahnhof stop can be reached with the following lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S5X
- By car: There are no parking spaces available, only public car parks in the surrounding area can be used
Access with pushchairs to the StuFaz rooms:
If you would like to visit our StuFaz with a pushchair, please use the rear entrance of Nürnberger Straße 42 (accessible via Brüderstraße). At the back of the building you will find a vehicle ramp which will lead you directly to the labelled back door. Please use the bell. You can lock your pushchair in the adjoining room to protect it from the weather. We recommend that you plug it in, as the Studentenwerk accepts no liability. Then follow the signposting up to the StuFaz rooms.
