From July to September 2023, Yun Zhao will be presenting her photographs on „The City, The Season“ at Studentenwerk Leipzig.
Yun Zhao who introduces herself as "Sunshine" originally comes from Guizhou in South-West China. At Leipzig University she is currently is studying in her fourth semester MBA (Master of Business Administration) which belongs to the SEPT programme.
When Sunshine bought her first pair of lenses in 2018 she got enchanted by the "artistical quality of the results" and the "composition of light and shadows, sentiment and interpretation as well as fleeting moment and eternal beauty". During the years, she says, she has learned to make use of photography to capture meaningful moments of her everyday life.
Her exhibition "The City, The Season" shows places and moments in Leipzig during different times of the year. With her "photographic diary" she invites us to rediscover familiar places as well as the beauty of everyday life and thereby experience new perspectives. The photographs can be viewed until September 2023 in the hallways of the 1st and 2nd floor at Studentenwerk Leipzig (Gooethestraße 6).
You want to organise an own photo exhibition?
Students who would like to show their photographs in an exhibition are welcome to apply to Studentenwerk Leipzig. 24 frames sized 59.4 x 84 cm each can be shown in the exhibition spaces in the hallways of the 1st and 2nd floor at Goethestraße 6. The exhibitions are usually shown for two months.
The exhibitions are financed by Studentenwerk Leipzig's Cultural Funding.
The student photographers must be enrolled in one of the eight Leipzig Universities/Academies, which are associated with the Studentenwerk Leipzig, for the whole course of the exhibition.
