Congratulations: Noah Dejanović from Leipzig University is “Student of the Year 2025”

Noah Dejanović was named “Student of the Year 2025” by the Deutschen Hochschulverband (DHV) and the Deutschen Studierendenwerk (DSW). We would like to congratulate him on this.

The 21-year-old is studying teaching at Leipzig University and has been campaigning against sexualized violence and abuse against children since the beginning of his studies. With his project “Child Protection in Studies”, Dejanović sensitizes fellow students and teachers to a difficult and taboo subject, combining the professional perspective with the perspective of those affected. In addition, Dejanović is involved in several social media videos for the education and awareness campaign of the Federal Government Commissioner for Abuse.

The DHV and DSW have awarded the “Student of the Year” prize for the tenth time. The award honors students who demonstrate an outstanding commitment that goes beyond their academic achievements and should be as unique and innovative as possible. In the unanimous opinion of the six-member DHV/DSW jury, Noah Dejanović fulfills these criteria with his great and exemplary commitment.
