Extended Lockdown: How this Affects our Services

Due to the current rate of new infections and the extended lockdown period, most of our facilities are expected to remain closed until 7 March 2021.

Due to the current rate of new infections the current lockdown will, in accordance with the Saxonian Corona Protection Ordinance of 12 February 2021, extended until 7 March 2021. The lockdown extension is affecting the services and facilities of Studentenwerk Leipzig.

Changes to our services in February & March:

• Our Mensas and Cafeterias  will presumably remain closed until 7 March. Only Mensa am Medizincampus offers take-away options for foods and drinks since 11 January to fulfill our social catering responsibilities with healthy and cheap meals.
• Our Mensa Card service is only available by appointment.
• Our Childcare facilities will reopen in limited regular operation from 15 February 2021. The children will be able to return to their respective childcare facilities. Please contact the head or provider of your childcare facility for information on the necessary infection protection measures and any changes regarding procedures and hours of care.
• Our DIY bicycle repair shops will presumably remain closed until 7 March.

Studentenwerk Leipzig does of course keep up all other services and offers. Many of our counselling services can be reached via telephone or e-mail. Digital offers like the for example the online workshops for homestudying offered by our Psychosocial and Social Counselling services go ahead as planned.
