Students at Leipzig’s universities will be able to access their Deutschland-Semesterticket for the winter semester 2024/25 from the end of August. Please note that the ticket for the summer semester 2024 does not automatically convert to the one for the winter semester, but must be activated – students can do this either in the LeipzigMOVE app or at an LVB service center.
The retrieval starts on these days:
For students of HMT and HHL, ticket retrieval in LeipzigMOVE is expected to be possible from August 26, 2024. For students of Leipzig University, HTWK, HGB, BA Leipzig and iba Leipzig, ticket retrieval in LeipzigMOVE is expected to be possible from September 16, 2024.
This is how the retrieval works:
Digital ticket via smartphone
- If you already have a Deutschland-Semesterticket in LeipzigMOVE, you can simply retrieve the ticket there again. If you are newly enrolled or if you do not yet have a ticket in Leipzig MOVE, you must register with the LVB via LeipzigMOVE in order to receive the digital ticket via smartphone.
Physical ticket as chip card
- Alternatively, you can collect the Deutschland-Semesterticket as a chip card from an LVB Servicecenter This is possible from two weeks before the start of the semester.
We would also like to point out that a “contribution repayment” for the winter semester is only possible if the Deutschland-Semesterticket has not yet been called up. Once the ticket has been claimed, a refund is no longer possible.
As in the summer semester 2024, the ticket price in the winter semester 2024/25 is 176.40 euros per semester. The semester ticket fee is paid to the university upon enrolment or re-registration and is included in the semester fee. With the Deutschland-Semesterticket, students can use public transport throughout Germany within the area of validity of the Deutschland-Ticket.
